Our Amazon S3 file storage plugin enables you to use Amazons low cost storage solution for all your uploaded files.
Admin Area Changes:

• New option within 'add file server' to set a S3 file server.
• Users still upload & download to your site, the plugin handles the transfer to and from S3. *
• The original S3 file urls are kept hidden by the plugin and set as private so they can not be accessed directly.
• S3 file server follows the same rules as other servers, so set usage priority, max storage available etc, if needed.

• Plugin Settings:
  • Whether the S3 plugin is enabled or not.
  • Your AWS access key.
  • Your AWS secret key.
  • Your S3 storage bucket name.

* Depending on your servers connection speed to Amazon S3 and the size of the upload, users may see a minor delay after a file is uploaded and being transferred to S3. As it's not possible to enable direct uploading to S3, users upload a file to your site, which then gets transferred to S3 automatically. Downloads are different, they can be directly downloaded via your site, so users will not see any delay while waiting for downloads.
